Ryan Fournier, a 4th-year university student at the University of Ottawa pursuing a double major in political science and criminology, provides us with an update on his campaign to Choose Canadian Energy, Not War Oil. Heres a short preview of what Ryan had to say:

Chad Leier recently hosted our weekly Food For Thought session to discuss his role as the President and Chief Sustainability Officer of Fluid Energy Group and its subsidiaries, SciencePak and SixRing. Fluid’s primary business is the innovation of technically advanced, eco-friendly chemical systems for the energy and petroleum industry (primarily in Canada, US, Middle East and Europe) as well as other markets like Marine, Transportation, HI&I and Water Treatment. In his presentation, Chad discussed the story of Fluid Energy Group which began in 2011 with the mission to provide safer, sustainable, and green chemical technologies to the oil and gas industry. Chad then showed us the variety of industries Fluid is involved with and the various products Fluid and its subsidiaries offer. If you are someone who is interested in the chemistry side of the resource and energy industries, this a great opportunity to learn more!
Our final Food For Thought session of 2022 featured Dr. Sara Vakhshouri, the founder and president of SVB Energy International, an strategic energy consulting firm. In her two decades of experience working in the energy industry, Dr. Vakhshouri consulted numerous governments, public and private entities, and international organizations. She has published articles in numerous journals and has contributed to different energy research works and studies. She has also authored “The Marketing and Sale of Iranian Export Crude Oil since the Islamic Revolution” and has also contributed chapters in different books and energy reports. Dr. Vakhshouri has a PhD in Energy Security and Middle Eastern Studies. She has an MA in Business Management (International Marketing) and another MA in International Relations. In her presentation, Dr. Vakhshouri provided an overview of her perspective on the current geopolitical landscape of energy security and Canada’s role/potential in providing the world with a secure energy supply.
